2009 Cabernet Sauvignon
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2009 vintage is a remarkable 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine that seduces you with its dark crimson color and intense aromas of candied fruit and allspice. Medium tannins gracefully lead you on a journey with many a nuance. Twenty-seven months in new French Haute Futaie oak barrels adds a dimension of toasty vanilla. After bottling, the wine continued its aging development in the bottle for three more years prior to its release, making it perfect for enjoyment now. Best to consume within 10 years from harvest.

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

94 Points. Gold Medal. Cellar Selection. Wine Enthusiast. Jarvis has held this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon for more than four years before releasing it. In that time, it has just started a long process of aging. The blackberry fruit is beginning to pick up a dried character, and notes of chocolate, black currants, violets and sweet oak engage the palate. The overall balance is elegant and smooth. This is wonderful to drink now, and it will hold and develop in the cellar up to 2034. - S. Heimoff (June, 2014)

93 Points. Gold Medal. Exceptional. Beverage Testing Institute. Deep garnet violet color. Intriguing aromas of sauerkraut, cassis jam on rye toast, chocolate mousse and floral honeycomb with a silky, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a clay, creme brulee and earthy pickled beet accented finish. A great savory wine for the table or sipping. Pair with porterhouse steaks and sauerbraten.
