2009 Petit Verdot
2009 Petit Verdot

A varietal rarely found unblended in the Napa Valley, Petit Verdot is a finicky little grape that is packed with a lot of power.  This unique and extraordinary wine has developed a devoted following. It's deep eggplant color and black fruit flavor are enhanced by its 24 months on 100% new French oak and extended cave aging.  Released when our winemaker felt it was ready for full enjoyment, it will drink beautifully for up to ten years from vintage.

June 1st, 2014

94 Points. Gold Medal. Beverage Testing Institute. Deep violet black color. Aromas and flavors of spicy dried cherries and apples, mocha, maple smoked bacon, and spicy gherkin with satiny fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a long, oak tannin accented finish. A delightful, flavorful petit verdot that will be sensation with spicy red meat dishes.
