2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Our latest offering in a series of outstanding Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon wines from Jarvis Estate.  In the glass, the wine glistens a deep, amethyst hue, while the nose offers an intriguing bouquet of clove and cherries. After fermentation, the wine enjoyed 26 months in French Haute Futaie oak barrels, adding nuances of toasty vanilla. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the wine moved deep into our cave for extended aging before winemaker Ted Henry deemed it perfect for release! Ready to enjoy now and through the next ten years.

2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

96 Points. Wine Enthusiast. This reserve tastes oakier and stronger than Jarvis’s regular 2006 Cabernet. With near-perfect balance, this is awesome. Flavors of blackberries and black currants are complexed with minerals and herbs and indefinable things from the soil. It’s hard in tannins and rich in spicy, smoky new oak. Hold until at least 2014, and it should continue to age well beyond that.

95 Points. Gold Medal. Beverage Testing Institute. Deep garnet black color.  Aromas of chocolate, dried currants, baklava, bacon fat, and fleu de sal with a stainy fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a long, tangy, chocolate covered orange peel, vanilla and cedar finish.  A delicious, elegant cabernet.
