2007 Petit Verdot
|
|
Wine Enthusiast 91 Points, GOLD MEDAL "Exceptional", Cellar Selection, 91 Points Beverage Testing Institute. Petit Verdot is a finicky little grape packed with a lot of power. As usual, it was the last to ripen during the 2007 harvest. As a blending element Petit Verdot contributes a beautiful deep color and black fruit flavor to our Lake William blend. Also a small amount of the 2007 crop was bottled 100% varietal in 375ml bottles. These small bottles provide yo a unique tasting experience of a varietal not commonly seen unblended. This Petit Verdot has a rich eggplant color. Aging for 23 months in new French Oak contributes to its smooth and long finish. This wine has been cave aged and was released when our winemaker felt it was ready for full enjoyment. Best to consume within ten years. |
