2002 Cabernet Franc Takes the Show!
2006-01-01

The JARVIS 2002 Cabernet Franc scored really big at the prestigious VinoChallenge International competition. Up against 900 other wines, the 2002 Cabernet Franc earned not one, but two Gold Medals and went on to be chosen the Best Wine of the Entire Competition!

The VinoChallenge International has the recognition of being the oldest annual international wine competition held in the United States (23 years). hosted each fall in Atlanta, Georgia, VinoChallenge is the last major U.S. wine competition of the year. This competition brings together wines from 30 different countries and prides itself on an outstanding reputation for blind tassting and total objectivity. The wines are intitailly judged only against other similar wines from the SAME country, the gold medalists then advance to be judged against all other wines from their hemisphere and these gold medalists go on to compete for "Best of Show."

The Cabernet Franc varietal often goes unrecognized on its own, due to its popular use in blended wines. But Dimitri Tchelistcheff, our winemaker, considers our Cabernet Franc to be one of the best wines he produces, which makes it no surprise that this varietal would win an overall Best of Show award.

Look for this spectacular wine to be released later this year.
